New book: Las rapaces diurnas y su conservación en Castilla-La Mancha

Las rapaces diurnas y su conservación en Castilla-La Mancha

Las rapaces diurnas y su conservación
en Castilla-La Mancha

Juan Pablo Castaño is one of the leading raptor experts in Spain. He has been studying raptors for many years, especially in Castilla-La Mancha.
In 2005 he has published a wonderful book about the Spanish Imperial Eagle in Castilla-La Mancha.

Now Juan Pablo has published another book covering all raptors that regularly occur in Castilla-La Mancha. The book is written in Spanish and it’s title is:

Las rapaces diurnas y su conservación en Castilla-La Mancha

The book has detailed species accounts for each diurnal raptor that regularly occurs as a breeding, migrating or wintering species in Castilla-La Mancha and also chapters on birds that only occasionally occur there, like the Red-footed Falcon.
The species accounts cover the biology and conservation of each raptor.

The book is beautifully illustrated with many color photographs and for each species there is a wonderful color painting at the beginning of the species accounts.

If you can read Spanish and are interested in the conservation of raptors in Spain, I highly recommend this book.
