31 fledged White-tailed Eagles in Denmark in 2009

In the recently published yearly report of the Projektgruppe Seeadlerschutz in Schleswig-Holstein (northern Germany) there is a short report on the breeding success of the White-tailed Eagle in Denmark in 2009.
The population continued it’s positive trend of the last years. More new territories were established in 2009. In 28 occupied territories, 31 young eagles fledged. There may be another 2 so far unknown nests which could not be found during the breeding season.
One pair raised 3 young in 2009. The other successful pairs either raised 1 or 2 young.
Unfortunately, one Sea Eagle was shot. It is sad that such things still happen.
