New Blog about White-tailed Eagles in Ireland

The Golden Eagle Trust in Ireland, working on the reintroduction of Golden Eagles, Red Kites and White-tailed Eagles in Ireland, has started a new blog about the White-tailed Eagle which will provide regular news about the Sea Eagle project in Ireland.
The first post describes the movements of the satellite-tagged of several eagles.
The White-tailed Eagle project hopes to bring back the once extinct species back to Ireland. Hopefully it will be as successful as the project in Scotland.
The release of birds from Norway started in 2007. In 2009, 20 chicks (13 females and 7 males) were released. As White-tailed Eagles start breeding with an age of 4-6 years (in rare cases with 3 years), there are no breeding attempts yet in Ireland.
