The World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF) has a new petition on facebook to create and institutionalize a day dedicated to the Spanish Imperial Eagle (Iberian Imperial Eagle).
The Spanish Imperial Eagle is one of the most endangered raptors in the world. In 2008, there were only 253 recorded territories with only 4 of them in Portugal.
WWF hopes that by dedicating a day to the species, it will help to “bring the nation’s attention to not only the importance of the Iberian Imperial Eagle and the rich biodiversity of Portuguese forests, but to nature conservation as whole”.
I think this is a great idea.
