European Vultures
There are currently four different species of vultures breeding in Europe, each belonging to a different genus. Compared to other raptors within Europe, vultures are very large raptors, and generally larger than even the largest eagle species.
In fact, the Cinereous Vulture is the largest European raptor, with a wingspan of almost 3 meters.
Vultures are generally specialized in finding and eating carrion, and their populations have declined in any areas where large animal carcasses are not allowed to be left out in the open after they die.
